A quick and spontaneous sketch on the train. Seeds as teeth and then teeth as seeds. It was raining too so I’m sure that’s in there. I remember feeling weirdly ‘attacked’ as I made this, but it was cathartic.
It made me think of those terrifying, screeching skeletons growing from the Hydra’s teeth in 1963’s Jason and the Argonauts, a perpetual cycle of aggression and adversity that isn’t defeated, but escaped.
In the original myths the hero is given the teeth by Athena, goddess of wisdom and warfare, and a very interesting figure in archetypal psychology - more of that to come for sure.
Thanks for reading!

I always thought that Athena played the role of the rational user of martial force. She gives the seeds to teach Cadmus a lesson that battles are sometimes not won by bloodlust but by being strategic. Just by throwing one stone, he was able to get them to kill each other and then use the rest to rebuild his city.
I love how you blend mythology and psychology; clearly, you are super knowledgeable about Jung’s archetypes.
I cannot wait to read what you have next!
